Notorious Is A Strong Break-Out Show This Fall

This post was sponsored by the Role Mommy Writer’s Network. All opinions are 100% mine. As a kid, I grew up in a house of avid television viewers. On Saturday mornings, my sister and I sat on the floor, cereal bowls in our laps, ready for the cartoons to begin. Our dad was right there with us, as he was a big cartoon fan as well. As an adult, my love for television grew. My mom, sister and I had the TV Guide delivered to our homes. When they arrived, we would hop on a conference call and map out what we were watching on TV that week.

Notorious Is A Strong Break-Out Show This Fall

For a TV enthusiast, the fall is an exciting time. Between September and October, new episodes of old favorites air. To make this time even more exciting, new TV shows will premiere. I still get a thrill from choosing which shows I am going to be watching every week. My daughter and I will get the DVR ready to tape the new episodes and premieres. One of my favorite genres are courtroom dramas. I love the suspense, watching each trial play out in a one hour show. One of the most anticipated shows this fall is Notorious. on ABC.

After watching the first episode, I am now also obsessed with the behind the scenes action of a TV network. I am certain Notorious is a strong break-out show this fall. The show premieres tonight at 9|8c, directly after Grey’s Anatomy. This show is fast paced, sexy, smart and thrilling. It has been a while since I have seen a show that once the credits rolled, I was left wanting more. At the center of the Notorious story-line, is the relationship between the charismatic defense attorney Jake Gregorian (Daniel Sunjata) and TV producer Julia George (Piper Perabo.)

The relationship of Jake and Julia’s is inspired by the real-life friendship between famed criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos and award-winning cable news producer Wendy Walker. The struggle for control of the media, the justice system and each other is palatable. I found it fascinating how Jake manipulates the media to sway the public opinion about his clients. In turn, Julia, who is the executive producer of the country’s number one TV news show, Louise Herrick Live, capitalizes on Jake’s clients’ notoriety, keeping her show’s ratings at the top.

With every TV show with strong leads, like you see in Notorious, a strong supporting cast is just as important. With Notorious, you are not disappointed. I am in love with the host of LHL, Louise Herrick (Kate Jennings Grant.) Kate really brings this wildly funny, trouble making character to life! To round out the cast, you have LHL’s junior producer, Megan Byrd (Sepideh Moafi) and Jake’s brother and law partner, Bradley Gregorian (J. August Richards), who I have loved since his days on Angel! Julia’s eager-to-please production assistant, who just so happens to be the son of the network president, is spot on and played by Ryan Mills (Ryan Guzman.)
