31 Irresistible St. Patrick’s Day Dessert Recipes

When it comes to holidays, most of us celebrate the major ones like Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. Growing up in an Irish Catholic home with 6 kids, I bet you can guess another holiday that was popular with our clan! My mom’s dad literally came over on a boat from Ireland to America. He married my grandmother, who was also part Irish. Just to be sure everyone knew about our Irish heritage, my mom was born with lovely red hair! Come March each year, mom was busy in the kitchen whipping up some delicious food for our annual St. Patrick’s Day party.

Mom would make some traditional dinner dishes like Irish Stew, Corn Beef and Cabbage and Soda Bread. We also had a table full of yummy desserts. Mom always made a mint chocolate cheesecake, plenty of cookies and fudge. Believe me when I tell you, there was enough food for the entire block!

Now that I am a mom, I am not quite as over the top as my mom was when it comes to the annual St. Patrick’s Day bash. We are a little more low key and have a party for just the 4 of us. I love to have that Corn Beef and Cabbage and Soda Bread and we rarely have leftovers of that. When it comes to dessert, I usually make just a few fun things I know the kids would enjoy.
