This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine. I miss my Gram’s cooking. I can only aspire to be half the home cook she was. I loved to go to my Gram’s house on Sunday. She always made a huge home-cooked meal. Everything she made was from scratch, from the dinner rolls to dessert. When all the other kids were outside playing, you could find me at Gram’s hip. I was her little her little helper!
And my Gram made me into more than a great cook. She made me the caring, compassionate and loving person I am today. And I have passed those traits on to my own children. I enjoy re-creating my Gram and mom’s recipes for my family. But sometimes, it is nice to have someone cook instead of me. Where can my family can get the same home-made goodness like my Gram made? Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. They make from scratch food with quality ingredients like my Gram used! And have been since 1979!
When you enter Cheddar’s, their friendly host staff greets you. They are always smiling. Always. And I love the open and airy design of the interior of Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. The kids love the huge aquarium, which you can see from the bar or the main dining room. The big beautiful bamboo fans in the main dining area are peaceful and relaxing. Their server’s are attentive, friendly and prompt. I appreciate that!
This Sunday, my husband, daughter and I decided to have lunch at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. Caitlin had been out of town most of the week and we wanted to hang out and catch up. Theresa greeted us within a few moments, (I told you they were prompt!) We had our drinks in a minute or two. We decided to order an appetizer we could share. The Triple Treat Sampler offers a combination of beef, bean and cheese nachos. You then choose two the potato skins, crisp chicken tenderloins or Wisconsin cheese bites. Oh my, those cheese bites! So good!
Because we were eating a late lunch, we were starving! All three of us decided to order a combination platter. I ordered the Top Sirloin Steak and Chicken Tenders. My steak was cooked to perfection. The Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen is a dish we always order. They are hand battered, moist and delicious! Caitlin ordered the Chicken Tenders and Fried Shrimp. I told you we couldn’t get enough of those chicken tenders! And Chris ordered the Baby Back Ribs and Grilled Shrimp. You guys! These portions are HUGE!!
And with each entree you get to order two sides. Hard choice there! It is difficult to choose from so many mouthwatering sides. My favorite is the Steamed Broccoli or the Fresh Apple and Yogurt Medley. Caitlin loves the Mac and Cheese and big, fat steak fries. Chris always orders the Loaded Baked Potato and a Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen Caesar Salad. Their salad comes with a HUGE croissant dripping in honey butter! Of course, I always sneak a bite! It melts in your mouth!
One of my favorite parts of Gram’s Sunday dinner was dessert. When we visit Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, we always order dessert. They offer such tasty treats as their Apple Pie al a Mode, Hot Fudge Cake Sundae or our favorite, the Monster Cookie. Yum! When we visit we our Knoxville Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, I love the time with my family. There is no TV or electronics allowed at the table. It is just us enjoying each other’s company. It is like Sunday dinner at Gram’s. Sigh. Not sure if you have a Cheddar’s nearby? You their store locator and find out.
