This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% mine. I loved baking with my mom. Now I am a mom, and I love to bake with my kids, especially during the holidays. Every Christmas morning, we have my mom’s super easy Homemade Orange Glazed Cinnamon Cranberry Rolls.
THE Best Baker On The Block
Do certain foods hold a special memory for you? The smell of cinnamon rolls baking reminds me of holiday baking with my mom. Mom made our baked goods from scratch. On each of her six children’s birthday, she made their favorite cake. Mine is devil’s food with vanilla icing. Mom made the best buttercream frosting! We had a breakfast nook in the kitchen. It was the perfect place to be in case there was a spoon that needed licking! During the holidays, we had even more opportunities to taste mom’s creations.
Bisquick Reminds Me Of My Mom
My dad drove a bus for the city and my mom was a homemaker. Being on one income and with six kids, mom had to be frugal. Mom was a master seamstress and made most of our clothing. She even made my sister’s gorgeous prom dress! She also made many recipes from scratch. Her go-to base for many dishes was Bisquick from General Mills. Mom joked that Bisquick was her yellow box of magic because she could make so many things with it. She made the fluffiest pancakes, biscuits and waffles, just to name a few! Now that I am a mom and master baker, of course Bisquick is my box of magic too!
Passing Down Family Traditions
I wanted to be a mom for as long as I could remember. I think when you have such a strong maternal influence in your life, you want to emulate it. Once my kids were born, I could not wait to include them in the traditions I enjoyed when I was a kid. Mom’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She was like a little kid! She started buying or making our gifts before Labor Day. Our Christmas tree went up the day after Thanksgiving. From then until the first of the year, our house smelled of cinnamon, sugar cookies and pine. Mmmmmmm! I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree because I am exactly the same way about the holidays!
Festive And Impressive. That’s Me!
When it comes to my holiday baking, you can find me puttering in the kitchen for weeks before Christmas. I love to make pies, cookies, and cakes. My favorite recipe are my mom’s Homemade Orange Glazed Cinnamon Cranberry Rolls. What I don’t love is running out of my baking essentials. That is why I stock up on my favorite General Mills products from my local Sam’s Club. The less trips to the store, the better! That gives me more time to have fun in the kitchen creating sweet treats with my kids! Are you looking for some holiday recipe inspiration? Sam’s Club has several recipes just waiting for you to try them!
My Yellow Box Of Magic
When mom was alive, the kids could not wait to spend the weekends with her. Of course she spoiled them! She also made their favorite cinnamon rolls from scratch. Mom saved her Homemade Orange Glazed Cinnamon Cranberry Rolls for Christmas morning. It was her tradition. In mom’s memory, I often make those cinnamon rolls for the kids, using my box of magic, Bisquick! The kids love mom’s Homemade Orange Glazed Cinnamon Cranberry Rolls so much. I make them several times throughout the year because they are so dang easy! I enjoy making them for my family and friends. I bet they will be a new tradition in your home as well!
Homemade Orange Glazed Cinnamon Cranberry Rolls
Before I made mom’s Homemade Orange Glazed Cinnamon Cranberry Rolls, I was intimidated! I could not imagine I would be able to bake such light and delicious rolls as mom did. I had used Bisquick in many recipes for years. I should have known making mom’s rolls would be just as easy! From start to finish, these rolls will take you less than an hour to make, and that includes your bake time! I know, right?! The hardest part of making them was cutting them from the roll. The dough would stick to the knife and made them shaped wonky. My secret weapon? Dental floss! Yep! Works like a charm. Just slide the floss under the roll, tie it and pull. Perfection!
