Homemade Father’s Day Scrapbook Paper Vest Card
This post contains affiliate links and/or images. Father’s Day will be here before you know it! That means you need to get a great card for the father in your life. Sure, you could go down to the store and get Dad a store bought card.
OR you could make him an adorable, handmade card. You know… the kind of that goes on his desk or hangs on the fridge for years to come.
Vests may have gone out of style in recent years. But they have remained a classic symbol of refined gentlemen, perfect for fathers. It is the perfect template for this Homemade Father’s Day Scrapbook Paper Vest Card!
That’s why we’re using the vest as the base for this craft project. A vest is an easy to recognize shape with space for decoration and any long messages you want to leave inside.
This Homemade Father’s Day Scrapbook Paper Vest Card craft project is easy for kids of all ages. The kids can draw inside or write a lovely note. The craft requires no skill at all and it doesn’t take very long to complete.
You’re never too old to make a card for your dad on Father’s Day either! My kids are teens and still make dad a card every year. After you finish making a card for dad, you might want to make one for Grandpa too! And then make him this 30-Minute Layered Enchilada Casserole.
What you will need to make your Homemade Father’s Day Scrapbook Paper Vest Card:
- 1-2 pieces of 8.5×11 dad inspired scrapbook paper
- 3 Buttons to match your scrapbook paper
- 1 store bought or handmade paper bow or neck tie
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Crayons, markers, etc. to write on the inside of the card
Step One: Print this template —-> PRINT THIS <—-
Step Two: Cut template along the solid lines and fold on the dotted lines.
Step Three: Attach the buttons along one side where the inner folds meet.
Step Four: Attach bow or neck tie at the top (throat area) on the opposite side that you attached the buttons. This will help balance the weight of the glue.
Step Five: Let the kids write a note or color on the inside of the vest.
Present your Homemade Father’s Day Scrapbook Paper Vest Card to dad and watch his face light up! Or feign surprise when he is asked to pose for a picture!
