How To Make A No Sew Pet Blanket In An Hour
This post contains affiliate links and/or images. What is your favorite season? Mine is definitely fall! We live in the south, so we don’t get terribly cold weather. It does get chilly enough for a light jacket or sweater.
We Get Fickle Weather In The South
But the weather is fickle, so it changes from one day to the next. My daughter was leaving for school and had on a sleeveless dress as the weather was warmer the day before. Today, it was 15 degrees cooler and she had to run in and get a sweater!
Our Two Furry Friends
Do you have a furry friend? We do! Our two cats, Meep and Hazel are precious! Meep is the smaller of the two and a bit feisty.
If my husband won’t pet her when he gets home, she will “slap” him with her paw! Hazel is the bigger girl and is more chill.
Pets Get Cold Too!
She lays on my lap while I work. She just purrs as I type. They are my heart! I forget they can get chilly when the weather is colder.
This year, I wanted to make them something to keep them warm. I decided to show you how to make a no sew pet blanket in an hour! It is crazy easy!
A Pet Food We Trust
As much as I care about how comfortable my girls are, I care about the food they eat as well. I want them to have food that is as delicious as it is nutritional. We love pet products from Purina® because it is a brand I trust.
They LOVE the wet and dry Purina® Muse® food from my local Petco. I brought a bag of the Purina Muse Charmed with Chicken dry food home. Before I could open the bag, they were circling it, trying to get into it!
A Pet Store We Trust
Have you shopped at Petco? We LOVE them! They always have what we need at great prices! We are fortunate to have one right around the corner!
And if I don’t want to get out, I can order online. If you have an item you regularly use, like the girls favorite Purina Muse, you can have it shipped. If you choose repeat delivery, you get free shipping!
A Friendly Staff Too!
I enjoy the family feeling I get when I shop with Petco. The staff is friendly and are so accommodating. When we couldn’t find something for Caitlin’s hamster, we asked one of the employees for help.
Instead of just pointing to the item, she actually walked us over to where it was. How great, right? It is always a treat to shop with Petco, because we get the prices we want and the service we deserve!
And A Food Pets Love
They are crazy about the Natural Chicken, Egg & Pumpkin Recipe, which is perfect for fall, right?!I love the Purina Muse Charmed with Chicken dry food because of it’s high-quality ingredients.
I was sold when I learned real chicken is the #1 ingredient. It is a healthy and nutritious food that tastes good too. It is just one of the many ways I can show my love for my beautiful girls.
A Natural Food For Our Cats
The girls also love the Purina Muse Masterpieces wet food. You can choose from recipes like Natural Arctic Char, Natural Chicken, Natural Duck, Natural Pheasant, Natural Quail, and Natural Tuna.
They are all made with real fish or poultry. Isn’t that fantastic? As with the dry food, they are grain free and there is no corn, no soy or artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
The Best Of Both Worlds
In my opinion, Purina Muse offers the best of both worlds with their dry and wet foods. They never compromise on natural credentials, and they guarantee it’s unrivaled deliciousness. Feeding your cat a balance of wet and dry food is important for your cats oral and digestive health.
I feed Meep and Hazel the Purina Muse wet food in the morning and the and dry food in the evening. My vet suggested this schedule and I feel it helps keep them healthy and happy.
A Risk-Free Guarantee
If you want to try the Purina Muse foods but aren’t sure your cat will love them, I have great news! Purina Muse is so confident that your cat will love their Muse food they offer a Clean Plate Guarantee.
Take Muse for a taste drive, risk-free, with the Clean Plate™ Guarantee. If your cat says no, they’ll return your dough! How great is that?!
What you will need for your No Sew Pet Blanket:
- 2 yards of fleece fabric. I bought two pieces of coordinating fabric.
- Sewing scissors, or rotary cutter
- Cutting mat or measuring tape
- Polyester fiberfill material (optional)

Step One: Measure and cut fabric to fit your pet’s bed.
Step Two: Lay both pieces of fabric on top of each other. Cut a 3” x 3” square out of each corner of the fabric.
Step Three: Make 3” long cuts along the edges of the fabric. The strips should be about an inch wide. Go around the edges of the fabric until all four sides are cut.
Step Four: Tie a pair of strips that are on top of each other into a double knot. If you are going to fill your blanket with the polyfill, only tie strips on 3 sides. On the 4th side, tie strips about halfway, leaving room to place the polyfill inside the blanket. If you are not filling the blanket, tie off all four sides.
Step Five: Place your blanket in your pet’s bed or in their favorite sleeping spot. It will keep them warm and cozy in this chilly fall and cold winter weather!
Do you have a furry friend who would love Purina Muse and this soft, warm no sew pet blanket? Please tell me about them!

Meep could be my Truffles’ twin, I love how tiny she is, just like our kitty! I need to try making one of these no-sew blankets for her (and the dogs)! #client
Wow, that is way easier than I would have though. I love that it is no sew!
Holy moly! That is TOO CUTE and looks ridiculously easy, too! I could totally use some of these cute blankets, too.
I love that! I think I”m going to make one for each of my little dogs. They’ll love them.
Your cats are so sweet! I have a tortie named Chloe and she’s obsessed with all things fleece. We have fleece throws I’ve made her (and for family members) and she loves nothing more than to snuggle in with them. (She’s also a big fan of Purina Muse!)
I’ve made so many of these blankets, I can’t count. They are for babies in hospitals. It is so easy, and they do come out so cute! A good gift for a pet, too!
I love making these little blankets. I bet I could make some for the local animal shelter too.
My cats love boxes. But boxes aren’t very soft to lay in. This is easy to make and would give my guys something soft while they enjoy their boxes. I’ll even put some in the cat beds!
Now this is something I can definitely do! I am not the most creative when it comes to selling stuff because I don’t so well. I’m excited to try this.
Those cats are gorgeous… and maybe a bit spoiled – ha! My dog is spoiled for sure and I am going to make him 3 of those blankets (1 for each of his beds) for the winter.
My dog and daughter loves their blankets that I have made them. These no-sew ones are so warm and cute!
Totally in love with this post. I Was actually thinking about doing this for my pets. Thank you so much for the instructions.
I have always loved the look of the no-sew blankets. I love that you used this for your pets!
Wow you are so talented! I am going to try and make one for our pups!
My friend has pups who’d enjoy something comfy like this. It looks so easy to make!
That sounds like an amazing brand! I would love to see if the fur babies we have at home would love it. Thanks for sharing that DIY blanket as well.
That’s an adorable blanket and you have adorable cats! I really miss having cats around the house! It looks like they’re really loving the food!
I would love to make that blanket for Oscar! He’s the only cat we have and we spoil him to pieces. I think that Purina has always been awesome when it comes to providing our cats with the healthiest food.
Aww, Our cats would love their own personal blankets. Awesome DIY idea! We may have to try one or two of the Muse wet foods.
I’ve been hearing a lot about Muse and really need to check it out. I need to add wet food to my kitty’s diet and I’m overwhelmed with which one
Those cats look like they really love it! This is a really nice a simple project.
Too cute! I’m pretty sure our little puppy would love a bed like this. Love that it’s a no sew
Pets have got to be cozy too! Love your blanket. My kids could help me make them for all the cat owners in our family as a cute DIY holiday gift.
Those wet foods would be a big hit. My parents have me cat sit whenever they go out of town. I’m always looking to spoil them.
I think I saw this Purina Muse cat food in the store but I did not really pay attention to it. Now I know better. Thanks for the review. I am getting both wet and dry variants for my kitty cats.
Thank you for sharing your no-sew DIY pet blanket. Now that the weather is getting chilly, my fur babies will be needing one. Your cats sure look like they are enjoying Purina Muse. It is the same thing I feed my kitty cats. I just love to hear them purring in contentment!
This is a really cute idea for all our animal friends. What a great way for kids to get involved and make a bunch for a local shelter!
My dog carries a blankie and it gets ragged so fast! What a great way to exchange those torn up ones with a new and fresh one. Thanks for the idea!
We have 5 cats – and one of them is a blanket kitty. She is 8 years old. If I want her attention, I just throw a blanket on my lap and she’s as happy as a clam. I haven’t heard of Muse, but I like that it’s natural ingredients. I’ll have to check that out. One of my cats has a prescription dry food, but he can eat whatever canned food he likes – and I prefer to keep it natrual
I love this. Not only am I going to make some for my cats (I have 4), but I’m also going to make 2 for my Grandpuppies for Christmas!!! Thank you!
That is very creative and easy enough for me to make. Would make a good present for my friend with 2 cats.
I have never thought about making a blanket for one of my pets like this. My daughter-in-law made my son one for Christmas a year or so ago (and he is 6’4″) so you can imagine how large it was lol. I love this idea and now you have me thinking about making our 2 dogs each one.
Our Harley Girl puppy loves blankets but they don’t seem to last too long. This could be the perfect solution. Love it!
This looks like a super easy tutorial! Your cat looks so cozy and happy!
We are gonna be getting a cat soon I’m gonna make one of these
I have made child size blankets like this. They are so easy to make. The kids can do it too.
I don’t have a cat but I like the idea of the one piece blanket. It looks so cozy!
What a great thing to make for the fur babies. Thank you for sharing the tutorial. I actually want to make one for myself too! Looks so nice and warm. I think I will make matching ones 🙂
I love anything that is a no sew project! This looks like it would be something I could even do.
You seriously had me at I didn’t have to sew anything. This is a really cute project.
What a lucky kitty. I hate sewing so this sounds good to me
Aww your kitties are so pretty! I have two kitties who would love a cozy blanket like this. Our girl kitty always gets extra snuggly with winter temps and appreciates extra warmth
This is my kind of easy craft. This means I could make 2 in 2 hours.
Your cats are adorable. I love cats that have what I call catitude. I haven’t tried the new Purina Muse cat foods yet. My next shopping trip will include some of both the dry and wet Muse foods. Thanks for the review.
I really enjoyed this post. I love playing with my friends’ cats and wish I had a little cat myself 🙂 🙂
This is a really simple and great idea! We don’t have any pets, but I could give this as a gift.
My kids and I will definitely be making some of these blankets this weekend! So cute and soft!
That’s so cute and super easy! We have two cats and they love a good, soft blanket!
The no sew pet blanket is adorable! I have made quite a few for myself and family and friends, but I never thought to do it for a pet. What a great idea, I’ll have to try that out. Thanks for sharing!
I like that I can get materials that will go with my friend’s house.
I’ve been meaning to try this brand for some time. I have three cats
These blankets are so cute! I think I can actually make these because they seem fairly easy.
After reading this, I made teeny tiny little ones for my cats. I cut 4 inch squares, 2 inch cuts to tie, and before I tied the last side, I stuffed it with catnip! They went nuts!! I’m going to make a regular sized one next! Thanks!
This looks so cozy! I don’t have any pets, but I think my 2 year old daughter would love to snuggle in this.
This is a lovely easy way to make a no sew pet blanket. However, one of my cats would probably pick at the ties and destroy them very quickly!
love this craft idea. I have a 21 year old cat and I always put blankets in her bed so she doesn’t get cold and this would be perfect for her.
I just made one of these for my sister’s dog and my niece’s dog. They loved them.
Your cats are adorable. We have a couple and they would love this blanket. I wish I was as talented as you are!
That’s a nice blanket! I would like to try and make this for my dog.
