Have you had your mid-life crises yet? I have had two. One at 25 and one at 50. At 25, all I could think about was I was turning a quarter of a century. That sounded ancient! Silly, right?! And then I turned 50.
Live Life To The Fullest With AARP Member Advantages
I looked back at the fun I had in life. How could life be better at this age? Well, let me tell you, it is! There is so much to experience. I cannot wait for what is yet to come! And I am finding I can live life to the fullest with the benefits found on the AARP Member Advantages website!
If you are in the 50+ club, you should join AARP! They have so much to offer! You have access to discounts on dining, travel, retail and more.
Taking A Break With The Family
One of my favorite things to do is go out for a meal. I am happy to go with my family, my husband for date night or a quiet lunch with myself. It is fun to have a chef cook a meal, a kitchen staff put it together and a server to bring it to your table.
It is a nice break from cooking for my family at home. Because I worked in the restaurant industry for many years, I have a sweet spot for all who work in it.
That is why I am so thrilled to tell you about September Dining Days. It is an AARP Member Advantages campaign to highlight dining providers.
AARP is an advocate for folks like me who are in the 50+ population, working to affect positive social change for us.
With my AARP membership, I can save on dining with deals from many of our favorite restaurants! When you are an AARP member, you just show your card at participating restaurants and you will receive a discount on your bill!
Here are some of the great discounts available to members:
- Outback Steak House (10% off check every day)
- Carrabba’s Italian Grill (10% off check every day)
- Bonefish Grill (10% off check every day)
- Denny’s (15% off check every day, at participating locations)
- Dunkin’ Donuts (free donut with purchase of large or extra-large beverage)
- Landry’s INC. Restaurants (10% off food and non-alcoholic beverages everyday): Chart
House, McCormick & Schmick’s, Oceanaire - sweetFrog Premium Frozen Yogurt (15% off in-store purchases & 15% off gift cards

Thanks for the info on Dining Days. I am a member but don’t use it very often.
One I didn’t think you could be 50 yet, you look so much younger. I am 48 and didn’t realize you could get benefits from AARP at 50. That is really neat! I usually enjoy my Mom’s Senior Discount at Dunkin since she is 70, well before she was 70 but you know what I mean. lol. Thank you for all of the info.
Aarp looks like a great membership. My husband started getting advertisements for it and he didnt realized they started so early.
That’s a great deal! I’ll share this with someone who is eligible to avail.
I didn’t even know there were all these great deals with AARP. Now I wish I had it so I could take advantage.
They really do have great discounts! While I am not quite there yet, I will have to pass this along to others. I had a mid-life crisis at 25 too ha ha, and I am scared to turn 50. Hoepfully, some new discounts will soften the blow lol.
Good to know for when I get older. Great tips
My parents are in this age range I think they are AARP members. I dont think they know about the perks so I will share this with them.
Love that you can save on the things that bring you joy. Going out to eat makes me so happy too! No dishes, no whining about what’s to eat. Sign me up for AARP!
I’ve heard a lot of great things about AARP! I will definitely be checking it out when I get older.
My parents have AARP, they are always reaping great benefits! I will have to share these deals with them, thanks for sharing.
Sounds like some great perks! I mean, who doesn’t love to save money and get to go out to eat?
Thank you for all those tips on discounts. Every little bit helps for people old enough to be a member of AARP
These are some great deals that i’m sure most members don’t take advantage of!
My parents are AARP members and I didn’t know they had such great benefits! I hope they are taking advantage of them!
I had a mid life crisis at 25 too!! It was such a shock thinking I was at that point of life where I should have done something with myself already…Then I got over it, started thinking more for myself than what society expected from me and everything got back to the right path. I’m not even 28 now, but I’ll surely tell to my parents about the AARP members, they need some fun and new ways to spend time together!!
So great to see these things are offered to our retired seniors! I’m sharing with the parents!
My husband and I use the hotel discount from AARP all the time. I’d not heard of Dining Days before so thank you for letting me know. Sounds like a great reason to go out to dinner.
My husband and I keep getting the AARP membership in the mail, I have yet to sign up. Looks like they get some really good discounts. I will have to look into it again.
AARP has always confused me, I started getting mail from them when I turned 18 which confuses me. I just figured they would buy the mailing list of those registered to vote?
One of my Aunts uses them and gets a lot of neat discounts, she uses the travel ones all the time.
There are some great benefits to being an AARP member. I wish we had something like this in Canada.
What a great program for those over 50! All of those discounts are fantastic, although that Dunkin’ Donut offer would get a litttttle bit dangerous for me if I started add on a donut to all of my coffees. 😉
My mom is a member and she maximizes her membership. LOL. She loves going out with her senior citizen friends to have a snack at a nearby cafe. I think she also gets discounts on her phone bill.
You may have just talked me into it. I haven’t joined yet. Somehow I thought if I don’t join I’m not older. However I do love discounts!
I will turn 60 this Dec. and I keep forgetting I’m a senior citizen, I really need to join AAPR.
My mid life crisis is happening at 30! This program though sounds so awesome and I am going to sign my mother and father in law up for it!
I have been getting AARP envelopes in my mail. I can’t believe it! Talk about making me feel old!
It has so many benefits! How I wish we have that here so I can also enjoy here.
It sounds like AARP has a ton of benefits! I am going to look into it and see if my mom would benefit from it!
My boss tells me all about his AARP discounts, what a great program!
I’m gonna sign up for this
This campaign for dining through AARP is something I will have to share with my parents. The AARP Member Advantages has so many perks that can save you so much on every day things. Thanks for sharing the information.
Sounds like a great offer, with good member benefits. My hubs just received an offer in the mail. So this post is quite informative.
I know we are members and we love some of the perks. Enjoyed seeing your pictures.
What a great concept! And I can imagine that with 50 you are must more at ease with yourself and with the world. At least that is what I hope 🙂
My husband and I love Outback. The discount for that alone would cover the cost of the membership in one dinner. Cheese fries and filet here I come.
I never eat at any of these places, but good to know about. I look up info on AARP’s webstite once in a while.
I pay a visit each day a few blogs and websites to read
articles, but this webpage presents feature
based content.
I need to pass this info along to my grandpa, who belongs to AARP and I don’t think he knows of all these wonderful benefits. Thank you so much for passing these along.
We always ask if establishments if they offer an AARP discount. It never hurts to ask, right!
Been entering the Dining contest daily since you told me about it.
AARP does a lot for its members. I wish they did more for the disabled.
Well, I guess I didn’t win the Dining Days contest. Sigh.
I need to use my membership more often.
Thank you for all the additional information about AARP. I did not know they offered all those discounts.
