I get to sleep in a bit too! My kids are older, so they keep more to themselves during the summer. This means I have a bit of time to myself as well.

Shows On Netflix To Binge Watch This Summer broadchurch

Broadchurch: If you miss Doctor Who on Netflix, get your fix with this smartly written suspense series. It stars David Tennant, who you will recognize as your favorite, OK mine anyway, Doctor. The premise of the show is about a missing 11 year old boy. He is found murdered in a small coastal town. The media soon converges on the quaint coastal town. Then the townspeople are under the microscope. This one is a bit hard to follow at times, but it is well worth the effort.

Shows On Netflix To Binge Watch This Summer documentary now

Documentary Now!: Oh my stars is this one funny! The comedic and creative genius behind this brilliant show is solid. You may recognize Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Seth Meyers from SNL. The series are faux documentaries of actual high profile stories. If you weren’t aware, you would almost think these were legit documentaries! Their parody of Grey Gardens was as funny as it was sweet and a bit sad. You will be sad when you have watched both seasons and will be wanting more.

Shows On Netflix To Binge Watch This Summer girlboss

Girlboss: This was one of the most fun to watch shows I have seen in a long time. The show is based on Sophia Amoruso’s best-selling book of the same title. The book is about Sophia’s rise as the mogul of her Nasty Gal vintage clothing. Britt Robertson is brilliant as Sophia. There is a lovable snarkiness we all admire and wish we had more of inside us. Ellie Reed shines as Sophia’s best friend. You will blow through this fast paced series in a matter of days, so pace yourself! So far there is only one season, but I hear season two is in the works. This is one of my top picks for which shows on Netflix to binge watch this summer

Shows On Netflix To Binge Watch This Summer love

Love: This is a quirky one. It is the latest from Judd Apatow. It stars Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust as Mickey and Gus. This is the most unlikely couple you will ever see, but it works. Gus is a dorky guy who is on on-set tutor to a bratty TV pre-teen. His favorite past-time when not at work or trying to keep up with Mickey? He and his friends take movie titles and make them into songs. Yep. Totally dorky! Claudia O’Doherty, who plays Mickey’s Aussie roomie, Bertie, is bewitching. This one is as kooky as she is endearing. Netflix has two seasons so far and a third is may be in the works, fingers crossed!

Shows On Netflix To Binge Watch This Summer sense8

Sense 8: This is so weird and addictive all at the time time! You cannot be scrolling through Facebook on your phone while you are watching this one! You need to pay attention or you are going to get lost. It’s creators are Lana and Lilly Wachowski who were co-directors of The Matrix movies. The basics of the show is about 8 people who are telepathically connected. That is where you need to pay attention. Somehow, the characters are able to experience one another’s lives. The story-line is compelling. I love it!

Shows On Netflix To Binge Watch This Summer supernatural

Supernatural: Ah, my boys! Who doesn’t have a small crush on Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padelecki) Winchester? Supernatural is a lot on campiness and less on the suspense and mystery. But as the longest running series on the CW network, there has to be some magic behind it, right? You have 12 seasons to watch, so you have enough to last you part of the summer anyway. I have gone back and watched the series twice, so yeah, I am a bit hooked! I have also been to two Supernatural conventions, as evidenced by my post, Ten Essentials You Need To Make Your Fan Convention Successful.

Shows On Netflix To Binge Watch This Summer wentworth

Wentworth: If you like Orange is the New Black, you will LOVE Wentworth. This Australian series is set in Wentworth Prison for Women. Bea Smith is awaiting trial for the attempted murder of her abusive husband. Bea soon learns the staff are as shady as the inmates. I loved this fast-paced, nail-biting show. So far, you only have four seasons of Wentworth and I am not sure if more are in the works. I will warn you, this show is more intense then OITNB. There were a few times I had to close my eyes when the violence got a bit much for me. But, that is not the norm, so stick with it. It is work the watch.
