This is a guest post from my friends over in Australia! It doesn’t matter if you’re joining the thousands of Australians building their own custom homes or if you are simply looking to improve your current house. There are plenty of functional and efficient ideas which can help you to make the most of the space you have available.
In fact, with the average price of an Australian home now reaching $656,000 the idea of staying in your own home and improving it is becoming more appealing to many. Whichever option you choose it is good to know that you can get efficient laboring assistance; all you need to do is click here.
Hide Your Garage
When space is limited it can be a good idea to convert your existing garage into an extra room in your home. Unfortunately, this leaves your car sat on the drive. Instead of taking a part of your garden away you can build an underground garage. The opening can be an electronic door which slides the car back up to ground level. When the car is safely tucked away it is not only safe but the space above is free to use as a garden.
USB Sockets
USB sockets are popping up everywhere because the majority of modern devices charge via the micro USB. To avoid the need for plugs simply install USB sockets, you can plug in your device anytime without effort.
Change Your Shower
The traditional shower uses approximately 7 gallons of water per minute, a steam shower uses just one gallon! This is a novel new approach to showering, instead of water you literally shower in steam. It has already been shown to offer some health benefits and might be the shower of the future!
Upgraded Windows
Double glazed windows are essential to maintain the temperature inside your home and minimize noise disruption. However, if you are in an area prone to hurricanes you can change these for impact resistant windows. These offer higher levels of security and are better at retaining the heat inside your home!
Storage
Storage is one thing that there is never enough of. However, there are many ways of increasing storage without having to expand your home. The stairs are the most popular option. Instead of a large, largely wasted cupboard under your stairs you can build drawers into the risers; allowing you a huge amount of extra storage space which won’t even affect the under stairs cupboard!
I love the storage under the stairs idea, I desperately need more storage!
I love the idea of having drawers under the stairs. Very good use of space.
I really like these ideas. I like having the USB ports everywhere. That is just convenient.
I can see that for a family the USB ports would be handy. I live alone so I wouldn’t need them.
The primary selection right here is to let your eyes sweep throughout the cupboard with out focusing solely on the . Make, materials dimension and form are all vital components to contemplate when selecting what colour to alter cupboard door knobs to transform.
I love these ideas mostly the drawers under the stairs
I’d like to try the steam shower. I can see where it would save water.
These are great ideas! The USB outlets are what I need! I would also love a steam shower!
I’m tickled by the idea of an underground garage. Any house I have has to have a garage.
My stairs have a closet underneath them. I do like the drawer in the picture.
One of the things on this list that I could use are some new windows. They were new when I moved in, but that was 30 years ago.
Today I want the steam shower. I think it would be good for my aches and pains.
I love the storage under the stairs. We recently downsized and moved to a home that will be our ‘project’ for several years. We are lacking in storage space and might be able to use that one. We haven’t purchase any usb outlets yet but will be adding as much tech as possible: smart thermostats and door locks, etc.
