This is a sponsored post and I have been compensated. All opinions are all mine. Have you heard of babywearing? When I had my kids, I was not familiar with the term. After Henry was born, who was my last baby, I was told about babywearing from a friend. I had told her how my arms got so tired from carrying him when I tried to get him to sleep. She said to try a sling, wrap or baby carrier.
That is what babywearing is! What a lifesaver! So, now we know what babywearing is. So the next question is why would you want to do it? There are a lot of benefits to babywearing you may not be aware of. Here are my top 5 benefits of babywearing and why I bet you will be doing it yourself (if you aren’t already) or telling all the new moms about it!
- Content Baby: Experts and parents will tell you when you practice babywearing, you tend to have a less fussy baby. With Henry, he would cry almost non-stop. We had no idea about his autism and sensory issues at the time. All we knew is if we held him and walked, he would calm down. Talk about some sore arms! Babywearing was the trick we needed to comfort him.
- Free Hands: When I was walking so much with Henry before babywearing, I couldn’t get anything done! With babywearing, I was able to get so much done! I could work on the computer, do the dishes, fold laundry and tend to Caitlin. I was also able to easily breastfeed Henry, especially when we were out and about.
- Bonding With Parents: Another wonderful benefit of babywearing is how much bonding you can have with the baby. Because I was breastfeeding Henry, my husband felt a bit left out of his care. Babywearing is an excellent way for day to feel like he is as hands on as mom!
- Physically Better: Many experts agree that upright babywearing is great for the baby’s digestion because it helps massage the baby’s abdomen.
- “Smarter” Baby: When a baby is in their sling or carrier, they are more content, right. So this means baby spends less time crying and more time in a quite and alert state. This allows them to see and learn about their environment. They are also able to develop mentally and socially.
There are several great babywearing products on the market today. The two products I love the most are the LILLEbaby Ring Sling and the LILLEbaby COMPLETE 6 in 1 Original Baby Carrier. I love the LILLEbaby company! Their products are made with top notch materials and are extremely well made. They are as functional as they are beautifully fashionable. This is a core theme in Scandinavian designs. The LILLEbaby products are made with the Scandinavian values of life, honesty and a love for nature’s beauty. Those are concepts I can stand behind and am happy to recommend to my friends, family and you, my readers!
Let’s talk about the LILLEbaby COMPLETE 6 in 1 Original Baby Carrier first! It is made from soft and durable 100% cotton fabric. It is perfect for the family who want that “go-anywhere style.” With the COMPLETE, you get Six Carrying Positions, a hood, 2-way straps, two pockets, lumbar and neck support. it is available in several colors and patterns and adjusts to your child’s size, up to 45 pounds. It also adjusts to the wearer’s size, which is great! This way, mom, dad, grand-mom or the babysitter can easily adjust it to their size. It’s strong, lightweight and is machine washable. It sells from $125 for the Air Flow to $170 for the Embossed.
The Ring Sling is another comfortable option for babywearing! It is made from 100% premium quality linen and is lightweight and breathable. It adjusts with the super strong alloy rings, which are very simple to use. The removable zippered pouch is perfect to carry your essentials, like your keys or phone. It also provides a layer of padding beneath the rings for added comfort. Extra material is also available with the Ring Sling, in case things get a bit tight on the shoulders. It too is beautiful and the innovative design is unlike anything I have ever seen.
Both of the products are amazing and you cannot go wrong with either. Best advice is to consider how often you think it will be in use. Is there a need for the specialized back support? Or is the easy front Ring Sling the way for your friend. Both are available at amazing prices and you cannot go wrong! Be sure to follow LILLEbaby on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

I never wore my kids. I know a lot of people do and love it, but it was super uncomfortable for me and neither of my kids seemed to like it either, so I took that as a sign.
I just loved wearing my daughter. I wish I had invested in a better carrier with my son, but I didn’t know any better until after when I was pregnant with my daughter.
I think baby wearing is a great idea if it works out for everyone. I know it can be hard to find the right carrier but it’s so worth it if you find the perfect one for you and your baby.
When my last son was born, I wore him all the time. I didn’t love my carrier, but he was always so much happier when I wore him around. My second son was just born, and I have been looking for a new carrier. I will have to check out LILLEbaby. Those look like great carriers.
I would have loved it when my boys were babies! They always wanted to be held whenever I was in the middle of needing both hands! So far my grandsons have been good at self soothing and haven’t bothered their mommies but I will be the first to suggest baby wearing!
I LOVE baby wearing. It wasn’t a thing with when my kids were that age, so I had to do it with my hip. This would have been much easier.
I like the idea of baby wearing because constant skin contact with the baby is essential for their emotional growth. I wish this was widely available when my kids were still infants.
I wanted to do this to at least a little degree with my kiddo, but he HATED the baby carrier! He would scream the whole time he was in it! I love the though of it though!
By the time we got a baby carrier, my son was alreayd like 5 months old and huge. I wish I started with my first.
I never had this but it looks like a great way to carry a baby. A lot safer than carrying in one’s arms. There are so many new baby items today. I love posts like this that give me the details. Especially good for those of us who don’t have children.
I am so glad that babywearing caught on. I love seeing the babies carried around in pouches.
I like that there are so many good things about babywearing! I do think that bonding experience is really important!
My daughter wore my granddaughter for the first few months. She stopped liking it after about nine months.
I wore both my kids, and my second a lot more than my first because I was literally chasing the first one around. I will be wearing my third one as well!
I didn’t know what babywearing was before reading this article. Thanks for sharing its benefits, I didn’t realise it had such a positive impact!
I love seeing parents wear their babies, it’s adorable. I also bet it’s great for bonding and feeling secure. I love that there are many options now for babywearing!
Babywearing looks so comfy and cozy for he babies. It wasn’t that big of a thing when my kids were little.
This is such a great post! I loved baby wearing my kiddies when they were younger and so miss it!
I think babywearing is a great way to get things done around the house. Your baby gets to stay close to you and you can have both of your hands free.
I wish I would have had one of these when my girls were younger. This would have helped out so much. They were always wanting to be held.
Babywearing wasn’t big when I had my kids but I wish it would have been. Babywearing is so much easier than baby carrying! I love the concept.
I never wore my babies when they were little because babywearing wasn’t a thing yet. But everytime I see a mom (or DAD) wearing their baby both the baby and the parent always looks so at peace to me. Makes me wish I’d done the same thing when my own 4 kids are infants.
I used a Moby wrap with my last baby and I loved it … it’s such a great way to keep your hands free and keep baby happy!
40 years ago I didn’t know about baby wearing. I’m all for it.
So many benefits to baby wearing! It also makes moms life a ton easier and lets you get so much more done around the house.
We did this with our kids just a bit. It’s alright
I wore it with my son when he was a baby. I love how you can do so much things with your hands, Really helpful!

I’ve always loved the different types of harnesses for a baby. When I finally do decide to have children I’m definitely going to baby wear. It brings baby and mommy so much closer!
I really like this . I gave something like this to my DIL. She loved it. You have been having a lot of baby items lately. Is there news in your family?
Im not a mom yet but I definitely want to baby wear when I do. My ancestors knew the benefits of baby wearing and its a good way to bond with your bABY.
I’ve always loved baby carriers, the keep baby close so they can hear and smell you which is comforting to them.
I love these baby wraps. I wish they were around when I had my children. It is so nice to have your child close for the baby and for yourself.
This was not around when I could have used it. I think it is a great idea and my niece uses one for her child.
I didn’t start babywearing our son until he was almost six months old. Like you, I was tired and he was fussy. Once I started carrying him in a sling/carrier our lives got a lot easier.
I’m glad that it was helpful for you. I think it is good to have a quality carrier like this LILLEbaby COMPLETE 6 in 1 Original Baby Carrier!
I love how versatile the carrier wraps are and the patterns.
Babywearing is something I never really knew about when my boys were babies. It really would have been nice to have a sling or a carrier back then. Thanks for sharing the information and these awesome devices or items for babywearing.
I like the ring sling. On my Christmas list!
I tried baby wearing when my little lady was a couple months old. I had a wrap that I used to help hold her tight next to me when she was fussy and it worked when she was really little, but after only a couple months, she squirmed so much and cried that I just gave it up.
My DIL had something like the Ring Sling. It is so nice and convenient for the Mother. Thank you for sharing.
