How To Make Bacon And Cheddar Cheese Deviled Eggs

December 27, 2019 by Kelly 89 Comments

hen I was growing up, I loved to go on a family picnic. Mom would make fried chicken, potato salad, cake, and my favorite deviled eggs. When I was old enough, she taught me how to make bacon and cheddar cheese deviled eggs.

How To Make Bacon And Cheddar Cheese Deviled Eggs

Mom made traditional deviled eggs, but I loved it when she would play with ingredients in her deviled eggs.  With six kids, it was hard to please everyone, but somehow she always pulled it off!

Before you go to your next picnic or party, learn How To Make Bacon And Cheddar Cheese Deviled Eggs on the planet!

A Super Easy Recipe To Make

It is super easy how to make bacon and cheddar cheese deviled eggs. The trick is how to how to boil and peel the perfect egg. First, make sure the pot is large enough to accommodate all the eggs you want to boil. If they stack on top of each other, they won’t cook properly.

I add 1/4 cup of cooking oil, 1/4 cup of vinegar and 1-2 tablespoons of salt to the pot. Next, I add carefully place the eggs in the pot. Be sure to add enough water to completely submerge the eggs.

An Important Step In The Process

Bring the water to a boil, then turn the heat down to medium-high. Boil for 12 minutes, and remove the pot from the burner. Allow to cool and place in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Rolling And Filling

Now for the peeling! Place your egg onto a clean surface and roll forward and backward. a few times. The shell will peel right off. Now cut the eggs in half, lengthwise.

When it comes to the filling, I feel it is the star of the show. To get that creamy texture, I use a hand mixer. This also makes it easier to pipe the mixture into the egg whites.

  • 12 Hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon spicy brown or Dijon mustard
  • 5 slices cooked & finely diced bacon, bacon
  • 3 tablespoons finely shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 chopped green Onion

I haven’t tried making deviled eggs but I love them! Now, being on a dairy-free diet, I am not allowed to eat them anymore, that will be for at least a year. Oh well. Funny thing too, I contacted EB eggs last time talking about how hard it is to peel the shells of their boiled eggs and they said it means it fresh. I though otherwise. ROFL.

Those look delicious! I’ve never tried deviled eggs before, how bad is that? But my husband has made them for my kiddos and they loved them so I’ll for sure have to try these!

Clearly, I really couldn’t boil an egg before, and found your tips really handy. I love devilled eggs. They’re so retro and delicious – nice to see a twist on a classic.

You had me at bacon. 😉 I love deviled eggs, and the bacon and cheddar will make these even better!

These look so good. I love deviled eggs but I rarely make them. I might have to try this one though.

Question! I’ve boiled the eggs and have taken them off the burner. Do I let them cool in the water/pan or take them out of the water? What about when they go in the fridge?

I have not tried that way of boiling them. I usually have good luck with them but I will try your way too.

I’m scouring the internet for new and different recipes for my Christmas party and I think these are going to make the cut. Adding bacon to deviled eggs sounds like a popular way to go. My family does love bacon.
