The Crispiest Nashville Style Fried Chicken Sandwich Recipe
One of my favorite meals to make is fried chicken. It has been a favorite food since childhood, and I have passed down that love to my kids. It is our go-to main dish for Sunday dinners and picnics. Our favorite is The Crispiest Nashville Style Fried Chicken Sandwich Recipe.
The Crispiest Chicken In Town!
The secret to my chicken being the crispiest in town is using Argo® Corn Starch! This was a surprising ingredient my mom used in her dredge for her fried chicken recipe. Not only does Argo® Corn Starch give you the crispiest chicken, but the coating is deliciously airy.
And it gives you a crunch your neighbors can hear! And don’t stop with your fried chicken! You can use Argo® Corn Starch for crisping meats and veggies and even for flash-frying in your Asian cooking. I just love the versatility of this product!
The Many Uses Of Corn Starch
I have been using Argo® Corn Starch for many uses in my home for years. I have used it as a thickening agent for my sauces, soups, gravies and even my Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry recipe. I use corn starch in my cakes, cookies, and it keeps my frosting nice and stiff. I even use it in my homemade rug deodorizer, bath bombs sidewalk chalk and slime recipe for the kids!
Argo® Corn Starch Is A Family Favorite
If my mom and grandmother believed in a product, I do too. Mom used to say there are some items you can use an off-brand for, and some you can not. Argo® Corn Starch was a product she would never substitute. With over 100 years of quality, I know it is a brand I can trust and feel confident using in my home.
Why WE Love Argo® Corn Starch
Argo® Corn Starch is naturally gluten-free, which is something I look for in my cooking. I love how smooth my sauces and gravies turn out when I use Argo®. And when it comes to baking, which we take quite seriously in my house, Argo® is the brand we use. It is the “glue” that binds your ingredients together in your yummy baked goods!

Main Ingredients:
- 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs, lightly pounded
- 3 cups heavy whipping cream, divided
- 3-6 cups Mazola® Corn Oil for frying, depending on the size of your skillet
Marinade Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup pickle juice
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 3 large eggs
Dredge Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup Argo® Corn Starch
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Sauce Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons Karo® Corn Syrup
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1/2 cup Mazola® Corn Oil
Directions:
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, whisk heavy whipping cream, pickle juice, hot sauce, and eggs. Pour marinade over the chicken, making sure chicken is thoroughly coated. Cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Step 2: In a shallow bowl, whisk together, Argo® Corn Starch, Flour, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove chicken from marinade. Toss the chicken in the dredge mixture until thoroughly coated. Return the chicken to the marinade, making sure chicken is thoroughly coated. Remove chicken from marinade and coat the chicken one more time in the dredge mixture. Lay chicken on a cookie sheet for 15 minutes so the coating can dry.
Step 3: Fill cast-iron skillet about 1/3 of the way with the oil and heat to 325 degrees.
Working in batches, place chicken in oil and allow to cook 12-15 minutes, or until no longer pink in the middle. Allow chicken to drain on paper towels.
Step 4: While chicken is cooking, whisk together the remaining Mazola® Corn Oil, 3 tablespoons cayenne pepper, Karo® Corn Syrup, 1 teaspoon chili powder, garlic powder, paprika and red pepper flakes and 2 tablespoons hot sauce.
Step 5: Brush sauce over cooked chicken. Place on a bun, and top with pickles. Now bite into The Crispiest Nashville Style Fried Chicken Sandwich Recipe and enjoy!
