Five Of The Best Housewarming Gifts People Want

This is a sponsored post and I was compensated. However, all opinions are 100% mine. Where are you on the gift giving scale? In my opinion, people usually hit it out of the park or they strike out. Most times, I hit it out of the park. I think this is because I try to put myself in the recipients place. I think about what I would want in that situation and then go from there.

My daughter recently bought a new home and I wanted to get her something special. You know, one of the best housewarming gifts people want! Because she has had her own apartment for several years, she had most everything she needed. So, that meant, I needed to jump over to the what she wanted column! So, I looked around my house to see what I would want if I were in my daughter’s position. Here are my five favorite ideas!

My daughter recently bought a new home and I wanted to get her something special. You know, one of the best housewarming gifts people want! So, here are my top picks!

  • Kitchen Goody Basket: There are things in my kitchen I use every day. Because they get so much use, they need replacing. Problem is, I hate spending money on myself. So, I keep using those worn out towels or that sponge that has lost some of it’s scrubbing power. I know I would love a pretty basket filled with new kitchen towels, pot holders, sponges, and  wooden spoons. How about you?
  • Something Homemade: I appreciate a gift that was made especially for me. When my daughter had me down for a visit a few years ago, she mentioned she wanted a flower garden. The problem was she lived in an apartment with a small balcony and not much room to plant one. We made these cute Fabric Covered Flower Pots and planted succulents. They are easy to care for. She loved them and they are still thriving today!
  • Laundry Goody Basket: Like the kitchen, my linen closet and laundry area could use some new goodies. My bathroom towels don’t match and one has a nice sized hole in it. If we had guests visit, I would be hard pressed to find decent towels to put out in the bathroom. I could also use a new laundry basket. One of the handles on mine had broken off.  A laundry goody basket would be a great gift, don’t you think?
  • Gourmet Basket: I love to cook, but the most exotic spice I have is paprika. I use an average priced olive oil and regular butter. I would love to have some spices from around the world to add flavor to my cooking. A nice bottle of EVOO would be cool too. Because my daughter loves to cook, I know this would be a gift she would appreciate and use often.
  • A Unique Doormat: If you were to guess one household item many homeowners forget to buy, what would it be? My guess would be a doormat. Am I right? Before you come into your home, you need a sturdy doormat to wipe your feet. No need tracking in dirt and whatnot in from the outside. Am I right?! Well, I found not only a well made doormat, but an eye catching one at that from The Rope Co.
