The downside of an upright is they don’t get into corners, so you will need your attachments.
- Canister: This is a versatile style of vacuum cleaners. It can go from carpet to hard floors. They are lightweight and easy to maneuver. Unlike an upright, they can get under furniture and into tight spaces. A downside is they may not have the suction power that many uprights have. A canister vacuum of less quality will cost more than an upright of better quality.
- Handheld: These are handy for a quick clean up. You would not want to use this on an entire floor. A handheld model will not have the suction power an upright or canister will have. These are inexpensive and their performance is indicative of that.
