I am super excited that fall is in full swing and I can say goodbye to my warm weather clothes! Now it is time to pull out the sweaters, leggings, boots and hoodies. Being a full figured gal, winter is my favorite time of year when it comes to fashion. I get to breathe a sign of relief that I don’t have to wear shorts or sundresses for another 4-5 months! The one fashion accessory I am never sure about are hats. I just am not sure I look good in a hat. Could it be that I am not wearing the right hat for my face shape? To answer this burning question, I did some research to find the perfect hat for your face shape. Here is what I found:
- Square: Find a hat in a neutral color that has a higher top and a floppy brim like a cloches, or bowler style hat.
- Oblong: Find a hat that sits lower on the crown and has an upturned brim. A medium sized floppy, 1920’s cloche, crusher, or bucket style hat will work best for you.
- Heart: Find a hat that has a medium brim that has a more prominent crown to make your forehead look more narrow. A fedora is the perfect hat for this face shape.
- Round: Look for a hat that has an irregular brim, with one side up and one side down. Find a hat that also has a higher crown. A medium to long brim fedoras, porkpies and trilby styles will look great!
- Oval: You won the jackpot as just about any hat looks great on you! You can really pull off a trendy beret or beanie, like the cream beanie from Mitscoots.
