This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine. We have a graduate in the family! We were so excited and proud of our Caitlin. Graduating from high school is a huge honor! We wanted to celebrate her accomplishment. After the ceremony, we wanted to throw her a fun party with her friends and family.
Save On Your Party And DIY!
When it came to planning the party, I had a few guidelines to follow. We knew we wanted to do everything ourselves. This meant we had more money to spend on her computer we were getting her for her graduation gift. We also knew we wanted to have most of the activities outside. This would accommodate the large number of guests better than our small home. Here are my tips!
5 Of The Best DIY Summer Outdoor Party Tips
Stick To That Budget!: One of my party fouls is spending more than I budgeted. If you shop sales and at your local Dollar store, you can stay in your budget. This makes my husband happy!
Make It Yourself: My daughter and I are pretty crafty! We were able to make most of the items for the party. We made out photo booth props, her cupcake toppers, the food and decorations. We spent $50 for everything!
Serve A Light Menu: When you throw a party for teens, they can eat a lot! We decided to make a taco bar for the main meal. For dessert, we set up a sundae bar. The kids loved it. So did my wallet!
Create Fun Stations: We have a small house. A large group of teenagers were not going to fit. Instead, we set up fun stations. We had a game table for Foosball, an area for balloon keep away tag, a photo booth and a water balloon station. The only thing inside was the karaoke area.
Have Creative Seating: Again, small house equals no room. We set up areas outside where the kids could sit and relax. This included the hammock. To light up the evening, we made sure to string up plenty of our Enbrighten Color Changing Café Lights!
I cannot tell you how much the kids loved the Enbrighten Color Changing Café Lights! They were enamored with the various colors. You can change one light at a time or two colors simultaneously! The kids were constantly asking for the remote so they could change the colors or set a different mode! There are 16 colors total and you can create over 120 color combinations! Here is a short video to give you an example of how cool these lights are!
