The Mad Scientist Is A Fun Halloween Cocktail With A Wow Factor!

December 27, 2019 by Kelly 61 Comments

The Mad Scientist Is A Fun Halloween Cocktail

Every Halloween, my mom had a huge party. My three older brothers were in charge of the decorations and music. They recorded creepy sounds like a creaking door and a mad scientist laughing. They used fake blood, plastic spiders and bats. They also used cheesecloth for spiderwebs, bloody cloths and ghosts.

The Mad Scientist is a fun Halloween cocktail recipe that is as visually stunning as it is tasty! It is the perfect Halloween party cocktail idea.

While my brothers were transforming our house, mom was busy in the kitchenmaking “lady finger” sandwiches, mummy dogs and bloody brain dip. She made punch for the kids and a signature cocktail for the adults. Our guests said she created a fun Halloween cocktail that got better every year!

The Mad Scientist 4

Until I threw my first Halloween party, I had no idea what big shoes I had to fill. It takes a lot to pull off a haunted house for Halloween! During the party, the kids hand out candy at the door and help me in the kitchen, while my husband plays bartender.

The Mad Scientist 5

This year, our fun Halloween cocktail is The Mad Scientist. Another great cocktail, any time of the year, is my Pomegranate Martini!

The Mad Scientist

Not only is this fun Hallooween cocktail visually appealing, it is delicious too! The Mad Scientist puts together two of my favorite flavors; orange and black raspberry. When I was a bartender, I used these two tasty liqueurs in many a shot!

The Mad Scientist 3

So, when I was trying to come up with a fun drink for this year’s Halloween party, I put them together, along with some lemon lime soda and some cranberry juice we had on hand. BAM!! We had this year’s fun Halloween cocktail! Add some dry ice and you will have all your guests in awe!

  • 1/2 ounce Blue Curacao
  • 3/4 ounce Chambord
  • 1 ounce vodka

  1. Mix your first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker with regular ice. Strain into your glass (or beaker!!) Fill glass with equal parts Cranberry Juice and Lemon Lime Soda. Add *dry ice just before serving.
  2. *Do not handle dry ice with your bare hands. It can cause severe burns or frostbite. Use tongs to add dry ice to your drink. The dry ice will smoke for about 5 minutes.
