When I was in high school, a family friend took me to Florida for 2 weeks in the summer. We stayed right on Daytona Beach and I fell in love! The white sands, the gorgeous water and there is so much to do there! Known as The Original American Beach, Daytona Beach is located on Florida’s East coast. My daughter was able to visit Daytona Beach with her church group in middle school. It was the first time she had ever seen a beach or the ocean and she still talks about her trip to Daytona Beach! Have you ever been to Daytona Beach? If not, you are in for such a treat! Daytona Beach offers a ton of activities, places to eat and 23 miles of pristine white sand. Whether you are looking for a place with kid friendly options to bring the whole family, or the perfect spot for a romantic getaway, Daytona Beach has lots of great options for your perfect vacation.
If you are looking for a fun family vacation, Daytona Beach offers plenty of places for you and your family to stay, offering something for every budget. Are you looking for a place that is great for couples and perfect for a weekend for two, Daytona Beach is calling your name! They offer hotels, motels, condo rentals, bed and breakfast inns, vacation rentals and camp grounds. In addition to relaxing on the beach, Daytona Beach offers many activities and attractions like the Daytona International Speedway, deep-sea fishing, deep-sea fishing as well as many historical sites. One of the places I am interested in seeing is the new Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, which offers the largest collection of Florida art in the world. Once the dun goes down, you an enjoy plenty of fine dining and restaurants, bars or dance clubs.
Did you know Daytona Beach is known as the festival capital of Florida? I had no idea! I would LOVE to visit Daytona Beach in the Fall! The area hosts more than 50 festivals throughout the year, and Fall festivals make this one of the best times of the year to visit. The Daytona Turkey Run at Daytona International Speedway has a display of classic cars of all varieties. If you are into dancing and tasty gyros, you will not want to miss the Greek Festival. During the Daytona Blues Festival, held at the 4,200 seat Jackie Robinson Ballpark, you will be swept away by the top notch blues acts. The Biketoberfest® at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona motorcycle-themed shopping and entertainment complex, you can enjoy daily music.
I love art, so I would love to visit the 2-day Halifax Art Festival (HAF) in scenic downtown Daytona Beach. The HAF features hundreds of talented artisans from all over the nation, is the second oldest continual art festival in the state of Florida and will draw tens of thousands of visitors . The HAF is a family-friendly community event with plenty of outdoor fun, featuring antiques, original artwork several mediums like ceramics and basket weaving and watercolors, crafts, home goods, jewelry, clothing and more. While you browse, you can enjoy live entertainment, a student art competition, children’s activities in the Kidz Art Zone, pet adoptions, and more. Bring your appetite because you can enjoy international street cuisine, festival food and fine dining in many local restaurants and cafes. The Halifax Art Festival is held each fall in early November, and with all of the handmade, unique items for sale, HAF is the perfect place to get some holiday shopping done. It is just one of the many free things to do in Daytona Beach.
