All opinions are mine alone. #WalmartMonsters #MiniMonsters #Walmart I grew up in the 70s, which was a different era to bring up kids. We lived in a house on a block filled with families. My sister and I would ride our bikes through the neighborhood from morning to night. We only came home when we were hungry and it was too dark to be able to ride our bikes! We lived in a safe neighborhood, so our parents didn’t worry about the things parents worry about now. Our parents were all friends, so pretty much any house we went to, we knew who lived there.
Halloween Isn’t Just For Kids!
When Halloween rolled around, my mom went all out. She decorated the house, handmade our costumes and made the best snacks on the block. Back then, it was acceptable to make homemade snacks to hand out to the kids. We always would trick-or-treat in a group. Because it was so safe, we didn’t even have a parent to keep an eye on us. Because my mom was such a whiz in the kitchen, all the kids loved to come to our house for their Halloween treats. It was more like a party than just a pit stop on your Halloween trick-or-treating route.
Non-Candy Halloween Party Favor Bag
Now that I am a mom, times have changed from when I was a kid. We have to keep a close eye on our kids. I would never allow my kids to trick-or-treat on their own. We love Halloween in our home as much as my mom did when I was a kid. I love to decorate the house, play scary music, get the fog machine going and create awesome costumes. It isn’t kosher to make your own Halloween snacks, so I make a non-candy Halloween party favor bag. In my opinion, this is a fun option for all the ghosts and goblins!
Walmart Makes Halloween Less Scary
I love to have my family help me make the Halloween goody bags. Because Walmart has everything I need, I can knock out my shopping in once place, and do it under budget. This year, Walmart has the cutest Halloween Mini Monster cans. The 7.5 oz. size make these cans perfect for Halloween party favor bags.
You can choose from Sunkist®, A&W® Root Beer, 7UP®, Canada Dry®, Squirt® and Big Red® 6-pack Mini Monster Cans. These little monster soda cans work well for your Halloween party, mocktail recipe or Trick-or-Treat bags. Currently, you can get $1 cash back on your Monster cans via Ibotta. Score!
Are you ready for the coolest feature of the Mini Monster cans? The monsters interact with each other! You can release the #MiniMonsters by downloading the app. Then you can watch them come to life! My family has had a blast with this feature. Who am I kidding?! I had a blast playing with these cute #minimonsters! !
I mean, I have never seen anything like this, have you? The app also allows you to video your monster experience or take selfies with the monsters. My kids are huge Snapchat addicts. Are you? They can also share their Monster experience on Snapchat.
How To Make Your Trick-or-Treat Goody Bags
Caitlin and I had so much fun making our Trick-or-Treat goody bags. All you need is:
- Large Clear Cellophane Bags (5″ x 11.5″)
- Halloween colored curling ribbon, cut into 10″ pieces
- One 7.5 oz. Halloween Mini Monster can
- Halloween inspired straws
- Halloween stickers
- Halloween Pencils
To begin filling the Halloween party favor bag, use your Halloween Mini Monster can as the main focal point. Place the can in the middle of the cellophane bag. Put the straws and pencils in the back of the can and the stickers either in the back or on top of the can. Gather up your cellophane and tie your ribbon.
Now you are ready to hand out your adorable Trick-or-Treat Goody Bags!
Which two flavors would you want to see come to life in the #MiniMonsters app?
