4 Tips For Staying Healthy On The Go

I went to the gym, worked 14 hour days, went out with friends, went to museums and concerts and traveled. Fast forward 25 years and things sure have changed! My office is my living room, my power suits have been replaced with sweats and going to the gym is a thing of the past. I just don’t have make the time to be healthy like I used to. And then the diagnosis of being pre-diabetic came and turned my world upside down (in a good way.) Now I am more invested in my health and am getting up and out and moving my body. But how do you do that when you are a busy mom, wife, career person? With these amazing hacks!

  1. Hydration: I was never much of a water person, but I have learned to love it. I grab a flavor packets and I am drinking my daily allotment of H2O. I never leave the house without a water bottle so I am not tempted to fall back into the diet soda routine.
  2. Exercise: This word used to be spat out like a curse word! I hated to exercise. Now I love to move my body and how I feel (and look) after sticking with it for a while. I keep my sneakers in the car so when I get the chance, I can get in 20 minutes to walk.

  1. Food: I used to skip breakfast and lunch and by dinner was starving. I would eat just about everything I could lay my hands on. Kind of like a human vacuum cleaner! Now I eat on a schedule and always keep a health snack with me like a Grab & Go snack from Orchard Valley Harvest.
  2. Rest: I have suffered from insomnia for years, getting just a few hours sleep at night. Now I have learned to turn off my mind, relax my body and sleep 8+ hours a night.
