30 Minute DIY No Sew Mini Gym Tote Bag

August 23, 2019 by Kelly 19 Comments

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CleanRippleStyle #CollectiveBias. OK guys, I am about to get REAL with you. If you are a mom, you probably can relate with at least one of these issues. I have been married for almost 20 years and have had 3 kids. Since the birth of my kids, I have personally dealt with hemorrhoids, bladder leakage and all the fun stuff that goes hand in hand with that gift! This means if you make me laugh too hard, I jump on a trampoline or run on the treadmill at the gym, I am probably going to leak a little pee.

Do you need a little bag to carry your essentials while you are out and about? Try this super cute and easy DIY No Sew Tote Bag #CleanRippleStyle #ad

There… said it! There is freedom in being up front and honest, don’t you think? I would not trade my sweet kids for anything in the world, but these issues that came from having them? I could totally live without them! But, they are part of my life, so I have learned to accommodate. This means my personal hygiene routine has changed. That means I keep a few pads, an extra pair of undies and a package of Cottonelle® Fresh Care* Flushable Cleansing Cloths in my bag.

DIY No Sew Tote Bag Cottonelle

I have been using the Cottonelle® Fresh Care* Flushable Cleansing Cloths for about a year now and they have literally changed my life. I know it sounds hokey, but I am being 100% honest with you. Have you ever had hemorrhoids? They can HURT so bad. And wiping with toilet paper? You can forget it! With the Cottonelle® Fresh Care* Flushable Cleansing Cloths I know I am getting clean and with no pain! Because they are alcohol-free, I don’t get the sting that goes with that. I also use the cleansing cloths to freshen up, especially if I am going to the gym.

DIY No Sew Tote Bag Cottonelle at Sam's

I get my Cottonelle® Fresh Care* Flushable Cleansing Cloths from my local Sam’s Club. I found a great deal on the Cottonelle® Fresh Care* Flushable Cleansing Cloths in the new Member-Voted Design packs exclusive to Sam’s Club (aren’t they precious?!) I get 11 of the 42 count packs, so I can keep an extra pack wherever I need one. I keep one in the bathroom, in my purse, in my DIY No Sew Tote Bag I take to the gym and even in the glove box of the car. Even my daughter keeps a package in her backpack and my husband, who delivers tires all day, keeps a pack in his delivery truck.

I love the Cottonelle® Fresh Care* Flushable Cleansing Cloths because they are so versatile and have so many functions. They are flushable, break up after flushing, and are sewer- and septic-safe. And with the OneTouch* dispensing tub, it’s easy peasy to grab a wipe or two! And you know what else is easy peasy? Using the Sam’s Club Pick-Up service and/or the Sam’s Club Subscription service. These services make shopping at Sam’s Club so easy! It really comes in handy on those days I just don’t have the time to walk around and take my time shopping in the store. Are you a Sam’s Club member? If not, signing up for a Sam’s Club Membership is super easy and it has great savings and benefits!

DIY No Sew Tote Bag supplies

What you will need is:

1/2 yard of printed fabric (I use cotton duck, but you can use just about any cotton fabric)
1/2 yard of plain muslin
1/2 yard of cotton or nylon webbing
Iron on tape

DIY No Sew Tote Bag Step 1

Step 1: Measure your fabrics to be between 20-24″ square, but of course, you can make your bag any size you like!

DIY No Sew Tote Bag Step 2

Step 2: Cut and iron your fabrics to get any wrinkles or creases out.

DIY No Sew Tote Bag Step 3

Step 3: Lay your printed fabric face (printed side) down. Put the muslin on top.

DIY No Sew Tote Bag Step 4

Step 4: Put your iron on tape in between the layers on the sides. Follow directions for the iron on tape and fuse the sides together.

Step 5: Flip your fabric so the right side is facing up. Fold in half so the top and bottom are even with each other.

Step 6: Fold down the fabric at the top and bottom 1″. Fuse this with the iron on tape.

Step 8: Attach your webbing (this will become the handles for the bag)

I love the no sew bag! That would be great to make with my daughter. Cottonele wipes are not my friend though. They caused us nearly $2K in plumbing damage.

This is my kind of bag! Even after a year of sewing classes in high school, my skills are still lousy. I can’t wait to make a bag that actually looks good and doesn’t require my nonexistent sewing skills.

Neat! Bags are a serious obsession for me. I’ll buy them or get them free and then I’ll have 100.

What a cute bag! Not sure I’d use it as a gym tote but I’d use it as a daily purse or a diaper bag. Love it!
