It seems no matter that bug repellent we try, nothing has worked as well as we would like. Until, that is, I decided to make my own DIY Essential Oils Bug Repellent Spray. I love to buy alll natural and organic when I can, but it can be pricey. I love that this homemade product is safe, cheap to make and works like a charm! The kids spray it on before they play a game with their Homemade Sponge Water Bombs! A cheap and easy to make boredom buster!
What To Do When You Can’t Find What You Want…
I began to do some research and I found many essential oils can repel insects, especially those pesky mosquitos. It seems Caitlin can get a huge mosquito bite just by walking within 100 yards of one! The other night she walked the dog and came back with several bites.

Make It Yourself!!
To make this Essential Oils Bug Repellent Spray, you just need a few supplies. It takes just a few monutes to make and you are ready to zap those pesky insects! We have several small spray bottles with this DIY Essential Oils Bug Repellent Spray. We take it to the park, the lake, the pool, when we go camping and so many other places. We even keep a bottle in the car! Here is how you can make your own!

What you will need to make your DIY Essential Oils Bug Repellent Spray:
• 1/4 cup witch hazel
• 1/4 cup distilled water
• 10-15 drops lemongrass essential oil
• 10-15 drops citronella essential oil
• 10-15 drops lavender essential oil
• 10-15 drops patchouli essential oil
• 2-3 drops Argan oil
• 1 teaspoon Vitamin E oil
Step 1: Add witch hazel to bowl
Step 2: Add distilled water to bowl
Steps 3-6: Add essential oils to bowl
Step 7: Add Vitamin E oil
Step 8: Add Argan oil
Step 9: Mix ingredients together
Step 10: Pour mixture into spray bottle.
Step 11: Spray before heading out into nature ? Re-apply as necessary. This oil is safe for all skin types. For kids under 10, decrease drops of essential oils from 10-15 to 5.
