Spicy Chicken Sausage and Cabbage Soup Recipe

December 27, 2019 by Kelly 29 Comments

I am super glad the holidays are over, everything is packed away and we can get back on a schedule. As much as I enjoy indulging in all those rich and delicious holiday foods, it can mess with your gut. Too many sweets and fatty foods can also pack on the pounds, and who needs that, right?! With the New Year, it is time to get back into a healthier way of eating. When it is super cold outside like it is right now, I love a yummy soup recipe.

Spicy Chicken Sausage and Cabbage Stew Recipe

If it can be a healthy soup that also tastes great, I am even more excited to make it. If you want a delicious buttery slice of heaven to serve after this soup, you will want to make my Traditional Pound Cake Recipe From Scratch.

Spicy Chicken Sausage and Cabbage soup Recipe

With this Spicy Chicken Sausage and Cabbage soup recipe, you get a hearty soup that is packed full of flavor but not calories. By substituting a high calorie pork or beef sausage with chicken, you are slashing your calories in this recipe. Also, by making it tomato instead of cream based, you are saving even more calories. The result is a happy tummy that won’t turn into a fat tummy! Serve with some hot whole wheat bread and you have a delicious meal the whole family will love!

I love a good cabbage soup so this looks perfect for me. I like the addition of the chicken and then just a tiny bit of cheese. I’m all about the spice too.

In the cold weather season, I tend to gravitate towards
soups and chili more often. One of my favorites is White Chicken Chili – it’s
    so creamy and spicy.

That does look like a yummy cold weather soup. However this week we had 4 days above 100 degrees so no soup right now.

This recipe couldn’t be easier and it looks very tasty. One of my cold weather recipes is a spicy macaroni and four cheeses.
